CORAL GABLES, FL.: The University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame & Museum has announced that its 2023 Celebrity Fishing Tournament will be postponed until June 2024. Originally scheduled for June 22-24 of this year, unforeseen circumstances have occurred, and the Fishing Tournament Committee made the decision to postpone. They hope to reconvene the 2024 tournament as a destination event in the Florida Keys.
The tournament, which began in 2011 in Key Largo and was then held for 7 years in Islamorada, has raised funds for such charities at The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys and the Coastal Conservation Society, as well as the UMSHoF&M. The past two events have been held in Miami-Dade County.
The UM Sports Hall of Fame & Museum is a 501c3 non-profit organization that honors the student-athletes that have brought acclaim to the university. The museum is open free to the public weekdays from 12-5 pm om the Coral Gables campus.
