One of the most decorated divers in Miami’s vaunted program, Easterly- Richards moved from her home of Midlothian, Virginia to South Florida at the age of 14 to train with former Olympic diving coach Ron O’Brien in Fort Lauderdale. The move paid off as she won two Florida state championships in the 1-meter diving event and earned a scholarship to the University of Miami to begin competing in 1994.
As a freshman, Easterly-Richards received honorable-mention All-American honors in the 1-meter springboard by placing 16th at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships and backed that up
by being named an All-American in the 1-meter again in 1995. That summer, she bounced back from reconstructive elbow surgery to win the first of her two titles at the prestigious US Nationals Outdoor Championships, winning the 1-meter springboard. She would repeat that title in 1996 and in 1997 take the US Nationals Indoor Championship title in the 3-meter springboard.
After taking a year off from school at Miami to train for the 1996 Olympic Games, Doris Glenn returned in 1997 and claimed the BIG EAST Championship in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard competitions. She would garner All-American honors in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events and took 2nd place in both events at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. She earned a bronze medal in the FINA Diving Grand Prix that year. As a senior in 1998, she repeated her BIG EAST titles and was named an All-American in the 3-meter at the NCAAs. She was named the BIG EAST Woman’s Most Outstanding Diver in both 1997 and 1998.
Easterly-Richards graduated Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and recently launched her own body care/health line of products. She and her husband Paul are active in many local charities and have three children; daughters Scarlett and Riley, along with son Gray. She credits UMSHoF&M member Coach Randy Ableman for being a calming force in her college career. Of Doris Glenn, Ableman said she “remains one of the greatest divers in UM’s diving program history.”
