The 6th ranked University of Miami football team defeated the 18th ranked Florida Gators 20-7 in front of 40,000 fans at Florida Field !
UMSHoF member Don Bosseler led the Canes with 148 yards on 23 carries and 2 touchdowns, including a spectacular 72 yard run ! Being the consummate "60 minute man" Bosseler also played defense and recorded 4 tackles, recovered a fumble, and ...intercepted a Gator pass !
UMSHoF member and QB Sam Scarnecchia tallied the final Miami score. The Miami defense held the Gator to only 155 total yards.
The IBIS yearbook reported that "nearly 1,000 Miami students made the 350 mile trek to Gainesville, and none were let down by the Hurricanes performance !
