Savanah Leaf left a legacy as one of the most accomplished players in University of Miami volleyball history. A powerful outside hitter, Leaf was named 2014 ACC Player of the Year and earned AVCA Second Team All-America honors following a record-setting senior season.
In 2014, Leaf started all 31 matches and led the Hurricanes with 502 kills and 4.65 kills per set, the top mark in the ACC. She totaled 575.5 points, along with 266 digs, 83 blocks and 27 service aces, finishing the year with 13 double-doubles. Her 31 kills in the NCAA Tournament against UCF also set a program record at the time.
Leaf’s impact spanned multiple seasons. She earned All-ACC First Team honors in both 2013 and 2014 and concluded her career with 1,194 kills and 87 service aces, ranking among Miami’s all-time leaders. As a junior in 2013, she led the team with 442 kills, 38 aces and 524 points, establishing herself as one of the ACC’s top offensive players.
Off the court, Leaf excelled academically, earning Academic All-America Second Team honors and was a Senior CLASS Award finalist in 2014. Before Miami, Leaf represented Great Britain in the 2012 Olympic Games and began her collegiate career at San José State.
Nowadays, Leaf has redirected her life to the big screen, earning the BAFTA award for her feature film "Earth Mama" with it premiering at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
