Sam Dorman was one of the most decorated divers in Miami Hurricanes history, having filled his trophy case with Olympic, international, national and collegiate medals over his career.
Dorman was named 2015 ACC Men’s Diver of the Year in his final campaign at Miami after shattering the collegiate record for the six-dive 3-meter springboard at the NCAA Championships, winning a national title in his last collegiate season.
Dorman, who was the runner-up in the 1-meter at the same championships and finished with three individual NCAA All-America honors, became the first diver in program history to capture three gold medals at the USA Diving AT&T National Diving Championships in 2013-14. He would go on to win a silver medal for Team USA at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the synchronized 3-meter springboard.
