Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, Phallon Tullis-Joyce arrived at the University of Miami as one of the nation’s top goalkeeping prospects and went on to become one of the most decorated players in program history, competing for the Hurricanes from 2015 to 2018.
Tullis-Joyce holds the UM single-season records for lowest goals-against average (0.84) and fewest goals allowed (16), both achieved during the 2016 season, and owns three of the Top 10 marks in program history in each category. For her career, she ranks second all-time in minutes played in goal (5,565) and shutouts (14), third all-time in wins (24), and fourth all-time in saves (258). Her elite performances earned her second-team All-ACC honors in 2018, while she also collected three All-ACC Academic selections from 2016–18.
Following her collegiate career, Tullis-Joyce launched a professional career that has taken her across Europe and the United States. After beginning her professional journey with Stade de Reims in France and later starring for OL Reign in the NWSL, she signed with Manchester United in 2023, quickly establishing herself as one of the top goalkeepers in the world. During the 2024–25 season, she recorded 13 clean sheets in league play, shared the Women’s Super League Golden Glove, and was named to the 2025 WSL Team of the Year, while also earning Manchester United Women’s Players’ Player of the Year honors.
Tullis-Joyce debuted with the United States Women’s National Team in 2025, where she recorded a clean sheet in her first international appearance. Later that year, she signed a contract extension with Man United through 2028, cementing her role as the club’s long-term No. 1 goalkeeper and one of the premier keepers in the global game.
Beyond her achievements on the pitch, Tullis-Joyce is also a standout scholar, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in marine biology from UM. A passionate environmental advocate, she remains deeply involved in ocean conservation, scientific diving, and youth education initiatives.
