Gene Stage, Mens Basketball, 1954-1958

From Indiana. Gene was one of the first players recruited by Coach Bruce Hale and went on to become team captain.   A point guard, he led the team in all around points and free throws, compiling a career total 1,192 points when the seasons had a lot fewer games than today.   After graduation Gene was asked and served as the coach of the Freshmen team.   Currently retired and living in Ponte Verde Beach, Florida.
