Dennis Erickson, 1989-1994, Football Coach

Coach Erickson came to Miami shortly after Coach Jimmy Johnson left for Professional Football in the Spring of 1989. Dennis then led the 1989 team to his first national championship (and the University's 3 rd ) in the Sugar Bow; 1990 his team went 10-2 and was victorious in the Cotton Bowl; in 1991 the team was again National Champions with a victory in the Orange Bowl; in 1992 his team again competed for the national championship but finished 3 rd . In 1993 his team finished 9-3 and   was again in the national championship hunt but finished 6 th .   His overall record at UM was 63-9.   He is currently head coach of the San Francisco 49'rs of the National Football League.
