Mrs. Kichefski Stops by the Hall !
The UM Sports Hall of Fame was happy to welcome Mrs.Helene Kichefski for a recent visit ! Mrs. K., and her late husband, former Hurricanes coach Walt Kichefski, were instrumental in the founding of the Hall of Fame and served as "parents away from home" to many former student-athletes in the many years they served the Orange, Green and White ! Visiting with Mrs. Kichefski was her daughter, Mary Kichefski-Galeri, and her grandchildren Kristin Galeri and AJ Galeri.
They are standing in front of the plaque for the Walter Kichefski Football Scholarship Endowment, awarded annually at the UMSHoF induction banquet.
CONGRATULATIONS to Russell Maryland on being selected to the College Football Hall of Fame !
Laura Vallverdu visited the UMSHoF recently to see the display with one of the racquets she used to win the 2010 Honda Sports Award as the top collegiate tennis player in America !

The UM Sports Hall of Fame was happy to welcome Annette Ficucello...the captain of the 1st Sugarcanes squad in 1968 ! The display...with the uniform Annette wore... also features photos of the "early years" of one of Coach Ron Fraser's most popular promotions...The Sugarcanes !
